It's that time of year again, the start of school.  More importantly, it's the start of football season! As all southerners know, a game is not a 3 hour event, it's an all day soiree! It starts with a pre-party with friends, mimosas, and a great playlist, and then leads to the Boulevard. The tailgate traditions of the south are a spectacle, but SMU is in a league of it's own. SMU tailgating comes with it's own verb ("Boulevarding") and it's own dress code. Boulevard fashion has become a game in itself and all mustang fans play to win. With the SMU student body being equal parts Southern, New England, and Cali, the array of styles is something to see! Most keep it classic collegiate and preppy, with the women sporting red, white, and blue dresses (with a texas touch of cowboy boots) and men wearing khakis, button downs, needle-point belts, and the occasional bow tie. However, many girls are more daring and sport high-fashion trends, looking straight from the runway. The only rule of the boulevard- no T-shirts, you will surely stick out as someone not in the know! Keep it classy, chic, and texas heat-proof! Pony Up and see you on the Boulevard!

Special thanks to Michael Klein of Cloud Splitter Photography for snapping the pics and my friends Bonny, Katie, James, and Thomas, and my sister Maggie for being my models!
